The Sunday after Winstock I threw my back out giving my 3 pound puppy a bath. How does that even happen? Then, last night I fell under an air conditioner I was trying to install. It smashed my leg. I think I am going to have to wrap myself in bubble wrap, sit on the couch and do nothing this weekend to ensure that I don't somehow get hurt. grrrrrrrrr.
My Updates
She Met Reba!!!
Check out this photo and read the story of Emily West and Reba McEntire!
Capitol Nashville's Emily West made the longer than usual trek (due to flooded and closed freeways) to perform at the Winstock Music Festival in Winstead, MN this past weekend. The bus ride to Minnesota was the first time West went out on her own tour bus, "I'm clearly going to have to set some ground rules with my dirty band boys," explained West. "They keep leaving the toilet seat up!"
After arriving in Winstock, Emily got the chance to meet her idol Reba McEntire who was also performing at the Winstock Music Festival. "Reba is a powerhouse of a woman - and entertainer. Despite a tornado coming near by and horrible rain and winds, she still went on stage! I worship her and it was a total thrill just to shake her hand! Oh, I stood in line and bought a Reba T-shirt too! I'll never forget that night!"

Is Garth Retired?
I had the opportunity to go to Nashville last summer for the announcement that Garth was coming out of retirement to release his CD "The Ultimate Hits". He told us at the event that he would be releasing the CD, doing some press, doing the concerts that he did and then he would "disappear" into retirement again around February of this year. Clearly, this has not happened. Since then, he's been everywhere! (I'm not complaining here, I think it's great!) We saw him on the ACM's, he presented an award at the Country Music Hall of Fame, he presented Carrie Underwood with her membership to the Grand Ole Opry and who knows where we'll see him next. He may not be releasing new music or touring (yet), but he is clearly regaining his public persona. I would wager that Garth is back. He loves his fans and he loves country music and I have a feeling instead of disappearing, he is emerging back into the industry. - Mary J
