About Me: I work at K102 on the weekends and LOVE every minute of it. I LOVE to travel and spend time with my family. My "Claim to Fame": It was always my moms DREAM to go on the "Price is Right" and after attempting and failing to do so, I decided it was up to me. I went to L.A. in October 2006 to visit my cousin and we went to the show. Now I knew that in order to make it on you had to be somewhat loud and stand out in the crowd. So we made up a song about Bob Barker (it is to the tune of "The Little Tea Pot") and sang it for the producers. Sure enough after calling down the first four people it was music to my ears, "Jami Austin come on down. You're the next contestant on the Price is Right." I bid a few times before I got up on stage but made a huge fool of myself by destroying the game I played. Although I made up for it when I spun the big wheel and got $1.00. Unfourtunalty, I over bid on my showcase but the other guy did too so I didn't feel as dumb. Needless to say after my mom stopped crying when I told her about it, she was very proud! Check out the video in my videos! Fun Facts: I have two different color eyes, my right one is blue and the left is green! My Grandpa was the FIRST EVER Viking's Mascot. I was brought out on the field with my mom for all of the home games as the "Viking Baby." He did it for 25 years and decided to throw in the towel when I was 3. You can only imagine what it's like at my house on Sundays during the football season!
Music: Country duh! Favorite Country Artists: I would have to go with Keith Urban for many reasons. First of all he puts on one heck of a show. He was also SUPER nice when I met him (I have never been so nervous in my life) and lets not forget about the obvious, HE'S GORGEOUS!! Miranda Lambert, Sugarland, Josh Turner and Martina would have to round out the top 5.
Movies: I like stupid humor and romantic comidies.... I am not too picky.
TV: Amercian Idol, America's Next Top Model (although I am NOT a fan of Tyra!) Desperate Houswives and EVERYTHING on E! My plan is to Co-host E! News someday with Ryan Secrest! :)
Books: Does Us Weekly count? If not, romance novels.
Likes: Joe Mauer, chocolate, summer, traveling, ice cream!
Dislikes: WINTER, bugs, Bad tippers, rude people, the smell of wet dogs, gas prices, spiders, wood ticks, deer (dead or alive), telemarketers, corned beef..... This could take a while.
Hobbies: I try to work out as much as I can but sleeping is probably #1.
    Heroes: Chris Carr :)

I have never felt so DUMB!

    Monday, August 25, 2008, 10:42 AM [General]

Sunday night I was live at the fair right after Neil and had two of our wonderful promotions ladies keeping me company. Now there were no technical issues during Neil's show but as soon as I started my microphone was not working at all! We started to freak out a little bit since I had not touched anything or done anything different since Neil had left. I decided I had to call out one of our engineers (who was not happy) to help out. After trying a few things and not being able to figure out the problem he looked at me with a really annoyed look, grabbed the mic and TURNED IT AROUND! WOW. I had been talking into the back of the microphone and couldnt figure it out! In my defense the other two girls couldn't figure it out either and it took the engineer about 10 minutes to see the problem. Also, for those of you who think that this would have been a super obvious fix and that I am a complete bonehead, it is a double-sided microphone that looks the same on both sides but only one  works. Still I think I take home the prize for STUPIDEST problem at the fair this year!

    Much needed Vacation

    Sunday, August 10, 2008, 12:20 PM [General]

Since I usually work 50 to 70 hours a week I go on vacation AT LEAST 2x a year. I am leaving for Colorado today and will be gone for  a week to just stay in the mountians and lay in the sun! I can't wait!

    Best HR Derby EVER!

    Monday, July 14, 2008, 10:04 PM [General]

Wow is all I can say about what I just saw! I called it at the begining that Justin would win when the  poor thing had the lowest number of homeruns. I knew that he would pull an upset and be the underdog to take the title! Way to go Justin!

Hi Jami. First off, it was very nice to meet you at the state fair this past Saturday. You are one of the nicest DJ's that I have ever met. I also want to thank you as well for signing my t-shirt. I also uploaded my photo that I had taken with you. So, when you get a chance, click on my profile and let me know what you think. Enjoy the rest of your Labor Day Weekend.

Donna has told me a lot of nice things about you, as well. At first, I though she was joking about the Price is Right gig! You did great! And I thought you way underbid, so I would have lost as well.

While no wardrobe malfunction happened, what was up with the game they made you play? Never seen it! I wanted Plinko or the golf-putting game or the 'higher-lower' game. Instead, you get some game that you need a fricken PhD to figure out!

I noticed we were both "surprised" today...Donna made me watch your Price is Right video; it was great! So cute. But what the heck? Problem with the tube top? I saw you you were having trouble. For you, it was the "Price is wrong". And don't forget, be sure to have your pet spayed or neutered. Seriously, it was fun to watch.

you certainly are lucky to meet the people you do, and being confused is common i guess but try to make the best of it and get the knowledge of what is making you confused, life is about learning and meeting new people.
